Let the Horses Do the Talking!

Image When it comes to working with horses there are so many different opinions it could take you 100 years to separate Fact from Fiction.  That’s why Dr Dave Marlin, Dr Veronica Fowler  and Sparsholt College put in tremendous effort to provide the facilities and conditions to enable Monty Roberts to scientifically compare his methods to conventional UK methods.  The fascinating results will be revealed during Monty’s next UK tour starting on October 1st.

The methods seem to have worked for Monty’s UK Instructor, Kelly Marks, a former Lady Jockey who left serious competition after winning the Ladies European Championship in 1995 and came out of retirement for the £1000 Pro-Am BHS TREC Challenge at Royal Windsor Horse Show this year.  With member of the Household Cavalry, stars from showjumping, and dressage as well as champions from the TREC world to contend with, Kelly and her horse Pie, beat her nearest rival Major Richard Waygood by 12 points.

So what’s the secret?  Monty Roberts didn’t even ride the horses that went so well in the science trials and Kelly Marks is the first to admit she’s not physically ‘naturally talented’ as a rider.  What they both appear to have though is an ability to inspire their horses to seemingly reach beyond their potentials and really try for their riders.  They have proven results and even the most experienced horse people are starting to ask  “How are they getting those results?” “What could be causing their horses to respond so well?”   “Why shouldn’t I get those results for myself?”

FRIDAY 12TH JUNE 2009

Update...

Your voice is heard, 184,740 voices.

Thank you all for your efforts.

The number of signatures delivered to 10 Downing Street on Friday June 12th 2009 topped 184,740 - these people have now signed the petition on BBC cuts to live racing TV broadcasts. The petition was delivered by Frankie Dettori and Sir Peter O'Sullevan and others backing the Racing Post Campaign.

Now lets have more coverage plus more documentaries on the grass-root-teamwork behind the scenes without which the horseracing stage would be an empty one.

Our viewing would not be possible without the skilled expertize of all those who work daily behind the scenes at the dangerous sharp end of the multi billion pound British horseracing industry.

TURFCALL STATEMENT

IF British Racing was being regulated properly, then none of this would have happened. Do we think that the British Horseracing Authority  has the ability... and the credibility... to regulate the sport in Great Britain? NO WAY.
