About the Owner.....

Margaret Clarke was born at Forge Cottage, Old Bosham, in July 1937. A promising tennis player who represented her schools in match play, reaching the Singles Final of the South of England junior Championships, Lewes at the age of thirteen.
Always fascinated by horses, she rode her first winner, on THE FLAT, in 1949, at a pony meeting in Oaklands Park, Chichester ... the T.J. EASTLAND CUP at 12-1. she waited until 1974 ... 25 years before she rode again on THE FLAT, this time at Kempton Park. She feels that the attitude of men has prevented many talented and in some cases, brilliant lady riders, from getting the chance they deserve. They have worked it out on the world's tennis circuits, why not the Racing Circuits? The world is a poorer place for this neglect.
Stable Lass: Lady Jockey: Trainer: Owner: Breeder: the hard work, the thrills, the spills, the disappointments and the heart break but through it all the true friendship of some wonderful horses and a few fantastic people.
